Everybody has their day and the PYO Scorpions had theirs against the PYO Angels. Trailing 7 to 4 in the bottom of the 4th the bats of the Scorpions could not be silenced. John Marano went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs. Billy Gallagher was all tuned up for this encounter, got 2 big hits and 2 RBIs fir his 3 trips to the batter’s box. Dominick Malaspina is having a great season for his first time playing baseball. He batted 1000 in this melee and stole 4 bases. The Angels never came close to picking this guy off. He also drove in 1 of the Scorpion’s runs. Another great base runner was Kyle Adisano. 2 bags were swiped by this athlete after bating 500 for the game. John marano stood tall on the Scorpion Hill with 5k to his credit, but the real pit bull in this game was Danny McLaren. He poured heat all over the plate for the first 3 innings and was brought back in the 5th to seal the Angel’s faith. He kept the Angels off the boards with determination, nerves of steel and an awesome fastball. Someone once said that winning isn’t everything. He neglect to say how sweet it is.
The Cyclones has a nice 2 run lead ober Big Blue in the bottom of the 6th. But two trips to the mound in one inning dictated that the pitcher had to come out of the game. Frankie “Two Trip” Bruno Mgr (as he is known today at the Parkville Complex) will never forget this rule. Big Blue saw their opportunity and pulled ahead 8 to 7 and took home the bacon. Despite the loss Brandon Velasquez had a big hit with 2 RBIs and Vincent Calcagno drove in 2 runs. Noah “Lock n’ Load” Solaro, a great team player, added 2 hits to his records.
