The Parkville Nightmares took a 7 to 1 decision against Grey Thunder with plenty of heat on the hill. Matteo “Pacman” Sgroi opened up the game for the Nightmares and took on 7K to his credit. Jason Ramos relieved Sgroi with fresh sizzle on the mound. His fastball was un-beatable. 4k and six unhappy Thunder batters returned to the dugout very disappointed. Chris Procidia closed the final two innings without changing the Nightmare momentum. 5k went in the record book under his name. The Nightmares had an outstanding 5 – 4 – 3 combo featuring Mike “Bandit” Durante at short, matt “Shot Gun” Durante on second and Chris “Tug Boat” Icona on first. This is a tough act to beat. The guy who held things together for the Nightmares from behind the plate was Louis “All Grit” Cigliano.
In Minor decision action Willie Agrusa was responsible for one of the Scorpions runs against the Cyclones. John Marano also plated a run and took care of six Cyclone batters with 6k. The tough guy Mothering the plate for the Scorpions was Daniel McLaren. He’s a 100% team player and never shows signs of tiring. Just ask the three Cyclone players he picked off. Phil Scalici represented the Scorpions with pride when at bat. Two hits and one stolen base go to his credit. Something worthy of mentioning is the fact that 9 Scorpion players made their baseball debut today, and they all showed a lot of promise.
The PYO Devils got off to a good start with a 4 to 1 win over Big Blue. It was a the Devils line up that put them into the winners circle. Frankie “Cobble Hill” Scotto gave justice to batting practice with a home run in the third. Michael “The Unit” Serrano blasted an inside fastball for a stand up triple. Tyler “The Zone” Seeley rounded out the Devils aggressive offence with a single, 1 RBI and two stolen bases.
